Hearing the engine rip through the trees zooming over your head, looking up with nothing but sky and sun around your head, very, very few things beat driving a convertible in sunny San Diego. My IS350 has been crippled with a broken wheel so I'm driving my mom's SLK350 around and am now pretty certain my next car will be a convertible.
I turned off the 101 at Carlsbad to take some photos. I found this great small turnoff that was literally a few feet from the water.
Hopefully I can do some more exploring with the large amounts of time I have now that I am a college graduate with nothing to do. It's nice not having anything to worry about from day to day, and filling up your time with things you want to do for yourself. Nothing on your shoulders or looming over head. More time to do things like random explorations on the 101, playing with the dogs, or random jaunts to San Diego for parties.
Last weekend was one of the best weekends of my life. It was 2nd look weekend for UCSD Medical School, so besides meeting a bunch of new people and dressing up as condoms for the Medical School party, me and my friends went to a bar on Thursday, had a house party Saturday, and hung out at the beach all day Sunday with fellow Med Scholars. Meeting new classmates at Med School second look was kind of scary (they all seem so serious and more ready for med school!) but they seem like a great group of people nonetheless. The weekend was the perfect blend of schooling, partying, and chilling. An absolutely sublime weekend with awesome people.
I leave you with a photo of my dog Didi sleeping:
Until next time, zai jian!
-Justin.
