Hello, World.

After using Blogspot to blog all of my Taiwan adventures, I decided it was an awesome, simple, and effective platform for blogging. I've been meaning to continue my blogging since I got back from Taiwan but it didn't feel right blogging about my adventures in San Diego in a blog called "Adventures in Taiwan." So here we are. Those of you wondering what happened to my "Adventures in Taiwan" blog, no worries, it's simply been moved to spamthechantaiwan.blogspot.com, completely unharmed and still as awesome as ever.

What am I going to do with this blog? Hopefully I'll turn it into a photo/deep-thoughts blog. I have been shooting with my Nikon D60 for a little less than a year now and have been slowly building my shooting repertoire, so hopefully I can share day-to-day shots with all 0.5 of you (me included) who read this blog. I'll be posting them all as 500px-width but you should be able to click on any and all of them to view them fullsize. And I'll share some daily ruminations and musings, as any blog should (it is called aMUSINGS after all!) But, more or less, this blog is just a place for me to ramble on about stuff no one really wants to hear about.

As with any blog of mine, this one is being conceived under the pressures of impending midterms. One on Thursday, one next Monday and one next Tuesday. I'll keep the rambling short, but I did want to start the blog off with two shots I took last night at the Mira Mesa Monday Meets (yes, MMMM), a car meet set up by the campus' car club, Imports@UCSD. It's the first time I have used this particular technique of lighting up a car and I think it turned out pretty ok.

tib-2-2
-This picture is of Team Hybrid's Hyundai Tiburon. It's a pretty mad car but it was falling apart and the owner asked me not to take pictures of the interior because a) it looked pretty beat up and b) his dog was in there. I can only imagine what my SB600 flash would have done to that poor dog. Anyhow, this picture is a composite of three separate images:

Once again, you can click and view all these photos full size (up to 900px resolution, at least. Damn you, flickr!)

miata-2
-This is Brian's MX5 Miata. A very clean example of the breed and some serious fitment on the wheels. Looks absolutely mean and planted driving around. This is a composite of two images:

Ok, I should get back to studying! Until next time, zai jian!

P.S. Any ideas on how to get my picture widget on the right to show my pictures from Flickr?
